  • 1/4 cup (60ml) sour cream

  • 1 jalapeno, sliced (optional)

Directions

  • Add taco seasoning and stir well.

  • In a large bowl, combine lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, cheese, and cooked beef.

  • Top with sour cream and jalapeno slices.

Notes

  • Choose Quality Meat: Opt for grass-fed beef or organic chicken. The better the meat quality, the more flavorful and nutritious your taco salad will be.

  • Customize Your Toppings: While the recipe provides a guideline, feel free to add or omit toppings based on your preference. Just ensure they're keto-friendly!

  • Dress Lightly: A common mistake is over-dressing the salad. Start with a small amount of dressing and add more if needed. Remember, you can always add, but you can't take away!

  • Fresh is Best: Use fresh veggies for a crisp and refreshing bite. Romaine or iceberg lettuce works great for that satisfying crunch.

  • Spice It Up: If you're a fan of heat, consider adding jalapeños or a dash of cayenne pepper to your meat while cooking.

  • Cheese Choices: While cheddar is common, don't shy away from trying other keto-friendly cheeses like feta or gouda for a twist.

  • Meal Prep Friendly: You can prepare the meat in advance and store it in the fridge. When you're ready to eat, simply assemble your salad, and you're good to go!

  • Watch the Carbs: Even though it's a keto recipe, ingredients can have hidden carbs. Always check the nutritional info, especially if you're strict about your daily carb intake.

This Keto Taco Salad is not just a delightful mix of flavors but also a perfect introduction to keto-friendly meals. With these tips, even beginners can master the art of crafting a delicious, low-carb dish that doesn't compromise on taste. Happy eating!
